I am originally from the North Shore of Boston and met Penny when I was abroad studying at the University of Wollongong, just South of Sydney, Australia. We both started our careers in the restaurant industry in the years after school. Penny was a general manager for a number of fine dining restaurants, and I was also in restaurant management in both Australia and Boston. We found ourselves more intrigued by the wine side of the business. Pen enrolled in Boston University’s Wine and Spirits program and I took a job as a wine rep for a wholesale company. We both had the pleasure of learning and studying under a few of Boston’s Wine Greats. We knew then that we wanted to further pursue our own business focused on wine and gourmet foods.

In the spring of 2006, we started construction on Ourglass Wine Co. We created the name OurGlass because we felt it truly encapsulated what we were trying to do, bringing the boutique wine concept to ALL wine lovers. A wine specialty store for everyone! We want our customers, whether new to wine or seasoned palates, to be able to come into our shop, taste great wine and not only get a great bottle, but also have a great conversation and experience with us. A place that offers so much more - like weekly tastings, wine dinners, wine events, classes, and more. And with that being said, who could forget about food! We also offer a great selection of imported and domestic cheeses, pates, crackers, spreads, olives, dried meats and more. Everything for the ‘foodie & wine lover’ under the one roof. Just like the boutique shops of Europe and elsewhere that we love so much.
